Daineid

Here are some screen shots of the main zone I was working on towards the end of my time at 38 Studios. Daineid is the starting zone for the Dark Elves. Since the entire zone was in a giant cave, the team and I had fun creating different light sources that lead players to different P.O.I. locations. We also played around with the shapes of the rock structures as well to create interesting silhouettes in the distant background.

Glen Suthain

Here are some screen shots of another zone I was working on towards the end of my time at 38 Studio. Glen Suthain is the starting zone of the Light Elves. The challenging part of this zone was trying to get the snow just right, so it wasn't just a big white area on the screen. We used multiple terrain painting techniques and textures to get the look we wanted.
